Tuesday

It is Tuesday afternoon about 4:45 in Delhi (I think). Today was an awesome day that had its share of challenges. After getting to a slow start with the children we were working with, today went far better. We were sharing Creation and design of man as His image bearer and the group I was teaching seemed very receptive. At the core of our souls God has given all of us a conscious that knows if we are walking in his peace or rebelling against Him. We can either be walking as we follow or we will be hiding and sidestepping away from His love. The kids really got a hold of those thoughts and the understanding that we all know that He will hold us accountable for our actions. Tomorrow we will go over the fall of man and our depravity. I shared Isaiah 64:6 to get them thinking about what will come tomorrow. The entire group reported good traction with the beautiful kids we are working with.

The highlight of the trip so far for me came after that when I got to spend about 2 hours one on one with my new friend pastor David. He is only 24 years old, but he pastors 15 house churches in Jarkhand. Jarkhand is under heavy and oppressive Hindu rule that is radical. The Hindus arrest, beat and have even burned Christians there. They have laws against being a Christian and also against evangelism – and they enforce them. He was heading on a train back today by himself. He had some fleshly fear that we were able to seek God together to overcome. It was unbelievable. Here I was with a man of God who was risking His life and God spoke through me using many verses like 2 Tim 1:7-14 That starts … “ For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and self control” . This was the first time I was edifying a brother that had REAL fear to overcome. He was asking me for wisdom on How to shepherd and walk. Me? Who I am I to ask? He is the one with the large measure of faith, my faith is strong but as I thought about Him getting on a train headed towards certain attack I wondered in my Heart…God-How strong is my faith? How will you use me? I thanked God for the time to spend with Pastor David. I shared with Him Colossians 1:24 about rejoicing in the suffering of Christ and he was praising God for His word.

I asked him to share with me and we went through Ephesians 2:1-10. This passage is something that I have been getting hit with at every angle lately. David ending his teaching me talking about verse 10 “ For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in Him. It is now apparent to me that God had used those words to plant David in His ministry. He is definitely a beautiful workmanship in Christ Jesus. What a sweet and beautiful time we had together. I will never forget that awesome privilege of ministering to one of my brothers in India who is unquestionably inspiring.

The challenge came as we went out for lunch and the heat got Ashley Benson. It is 115 and we are having to be very careful about hydration. Ashley is fine now. We bought a case of Gatorade. We are going to a house church tonight…should be great.

God is good and amazing. Thanks for your prayers.
